Every new account starts with 30 days of the full Share plan. No credit card, nothing to cancel — and nothing is charged when it ends.
During the trial
You have everything: sync across devices, PDF exports, GPS position capture, NMEA live data, shared passage links, full-resolution photo sync. The remaining days are shown under Settings → Subscription, and a banner appears towards the end.
This is the time to try what you would actually rely on at sea — connect your instruments, sync a second device, generate a customs PDF. Discovering afterwards that a plan does not cover something is the avoidable version of that experience.
When the 30 days are up
The account moves to the Free plan by itself. You are not charged, not locked out, and nothing disappears from your device. What ends is what the paid plans provided:
- Devices stop syncing with each other; each keeps the copy it had.
- The browser and home-screen versions show an upgrade screen instead of your logbook — the desktop apps and the iPad app keep working.
- PDF export, GPS capture and NMEA live data are no longer available. CSV and GPX export stay.
Subscribing — during the trial or later
You can subscribe at any point, and there is no penalty for waiting. The two billing routes are described in Managing your subscription; what each plan covers is in What each plan includes.
One trial per email address
The trial belongs to the email address. Deleting the account and signing up again with the same address does not start a second one — the app opens on the Free plan. If something genuinely prevented you from evaluating KnotWise, write to support@knotwise.app and say what happened.
