Managing Your Subscription

Modified on Tue, 28 Jul at 11:10 PM

Changing your plan, cancelling, getting an invoice or asking for a refund all start in the same place — Settings → Subscription in KnotWise. What happens next depends on where you bought the subscription.

Two ways to buy, two ways to manage

KnotWise subscriptions are sold through two channels, and each one handles its own billing. An App Store subscription cannot be managed through Paddle, or the other way round.

Where you bought itWho handles billingWhere you manage it
In the app on iPadApple (App Store)Apple's subscription settings
On the web or in the desktop appPaddlePaddle customer portal

In both cases you open Settings → Subscription and select «Manage subscription». KnotWise sends you to the right place.

If the button is missing: a subscription bought on one channel cannot be changed from the other. If you bought on the web and then open the app on iPad, KnotWise says so and points you back to the channel you bought from.

Changing your plan

Bought on the web or desktop (Paddle)

Upgrading from Sync to Share works directly in Settings → Subscription. Your remaining Sync period is credited, so you pay only the difference, and the app shows the exact amount before you confirm. Everything else goes through the Paddle customer portal behind «Manage subscription».

Note on photos: full-resolution photo sync applies to photos you add after the upgrade. Photos already synced under Sync stay at their reduced size — the original was never uploaded.

Bought on iPad (App Store)

Select «Manage subscription» to open Apple's subscription settings, where you can switch between Sync and Share or cancel. Changes take effect according to Apple's rules for your billing period.

Cancelling

Cancel through the same route — the Paddle portal, or Apple's subscription settings. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the app shows that date. Afterwards your account continues on the Free plan.

⚠ Cancelling affects your synced data. Once the account is on the Free plan, your data is removed from the KnotWise Cloud — the copy on your devices stays. Read What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription? before you cancel.

Invoices and payment details

Paddle

All invoices are available as PDF downloads in the Paddle customer portal, which is also where you update your payment method.

App Store

Apple emails a receipt for every charge and lists your purchase history in your Apple Account. KnotWise does not issue invoices for App Store purchases and cannot see your payment details.

Refunds

You can request a full refund within 30 days of your subscription start date or renewal date.

  • Paddle: write to refund@knotwise.app from your account email address. Refunds are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited as our merchant of record.
  • App Store: refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one through Apple's «Report a Problem» page or your purchase history — we cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase.

Founder pricing

The first 200 subscribers receive 25% off Sync and Share, permanently, for as long as the subscription stays active. The offer runs until 31 December 2026 or until all 200 spots are taken, whichever comes first. The app shows how many spots are left.

Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.

Still stuck?

If you cannot reach the portal — for example because you no longer have access to the email address you signed up with — open Help & Support in the app and select Contact support, or write to support@knotwise.app.
