Can I Use KnotWise for Multiple Vessels?

KnotWise is currently designed for a single vessel per account. All logbook data, passages, crew, maintenance records and inventory are associated with one vessel.

Charter sailors and multiple vessels

If you regularly sail different boats — as a charter skipper or delivery crew — KnotWise's backup and restore feature gives you a practical workflow: back up your current data, reset the app for the new vessel, and restore your personal setup when you return to your own boat.

Two reset options are available in Settings → Data Backup:

• Reset Passages & Logbook — clears all log entries and passages. Your vessel profile, crew list, maintenance records, inventory and settings are preserved. Use this at the start of a new season or a charter trip on the same boat.
• Reset to New Vessel — full reset for switching to a different boat. Use this when moving to a charter yacht with different equipment, crew and dimensions.

A KnotWise backup is a single ZIP file containing everything: passages, log entries, vessel profile, crew list with passport details, maintenance records, inventory and logbook photos. Export it before a reset and restore it on return.

Separate accounts per vessel

If you need permanent, independent logbooks for more than one vessel — for example, as a skipper managing two owned boats — create a separate KnotWise account per vessel. Each account has its own subscription, data and settings.
