With the Sync or Share plan your logbook is the same on every device you use — the desktop app at the chart table, the iPad in the cockpit, the browser at home. This is the short version; the details are one link further on.
Subscription required: syncing between devices is part of the Sync and Share plans. On the Free plan your logbook stays on the device you created it on. Compare plans →
How it works
- Every entry is saved on the device first, then sent on as soon as there is a connection.
- Offline, changes are queued and sync by themselves once you are back within reach. Nothing is lost.
- If the same entry was edited on two devices, the version saved last is kept.
Adding a device
- Install KnotWise on the new device, or open log.knotwise.app in a browser.
- Sign in with the email address you already use — you receive a one-time code.
- Your logbook downloads by itself. With a large logbook that takes a moment; leave the app open until the indicator shows Live.
Up to five devices per account. You will find them under Settings → Devices, where you can also remove one you no longer use.
