Syncing Across Devices

With the Sync or Share plan, your logbook synchronises automatically across all your devices — smartphone, tablet and desktop — always up to date, even after time at sea without connectivity.

How sync works

  • Sync happens automatically whenever your device has an internet connection
  • While offline, all entries are saved locally and synced as soon as connectivity is restored
  • Conflict resolution is handled automatically — the most recent change takes precedence

Device limit

You can connect up to 5 devices per account.

Setting up a new device

  1. Install KnotWise on your new device — open app.knotwise.app in your browser, or download the desktop app from knotwise.app
  2. Log in with your existing account credentials
  3. KnotWise downloads your full logbook automatically

Free plan — single device only

On the Free plan, sync is not available. Your data is stored locally on one device. Upgrading to Sync or Share activates multi-device sync immediately. Compare plans at knotwise.app/pricing.
