Safety Checklists

KnotWise includes five pre-built safety checklists covering the most critical moments of any passage. Access them via Safety in the left sidebar.

The five checklists

Checklist	When to use
Departure	Before casting off — safety equipment, navigation, provisions
Arrival	Approaching port — anchoring, customs, crew handover
Storm	Before or during heavy weather — storm sails, jacklines, tethers
Night watch	At watch change — AIS, navigation lights, horizon checks
Crew briefing	Before departure with crew — EPIRB, liferaft, MOB procedures

Using a checklist

Tap or click each item to mark it as done. Progress is shown at the top of each tab. The checked state is stored locally on your device and resets when you close the app — checklists are designed to be used fresh each passage, not carried over.

Customising your checklists

All five checklists can be adapted to your vessel:

Add new items using the input field at the bottom of each tab
Remove items that do not apply to your boat
Reorder items by dragging

Customised list content is saved to your account and syncs across devices on Sync and Share plans. The default items are restored at any time by tapping or clicking «Reset to defaults».

Checked items are stored locally only — they do not sync between devices and are not included in backups. Only your customised list content (added and removed items) syncs and backs up.
