What the Customs Declaration contains

  • Vessel details — name, flag, registration number, dimensions
  • Voyage details — departure port, arrival port, date
  • Port history — last 5 ports of call, drawn automatically from your passages
  • Crew manifest — all crew members assigned to the selected passage, including passport details
  • Animals on board — all active animals with species, microchip number, vaccination certificate and CITES status
  • Goods declaration — all inventory items marked as dutiable, grouped by category

Generating the Customs Declaration

  1. Navigate to Export in the left sidebar
  2. Under Customs Declaration PDF, select the relevant passage from the dropdown
  3. Tap or click «Generate PDF» — a review dialog opens showing your goods declaration and pre-filled values
  4. Verify all fields and confirm — the document is generated immediately, ready to print or present digitally

Tips for a complete declaration

  • Ensure all crew members for the passage are correctly assigned before generating
  • Check that any animals on board are active and up to date in CrewAnimals on Board — see Animals on board
  • Mark dutiable items in your inventory — alcohol, tobacco, firearms and other declarable goods appear automatically in the goods declaration block
  • Add a log entry upon arrival so the declaration reflects your actual arrival position and time
  • Keep your vessel details current in Settings — these feed directly into the document
Requirements vary by country. KnotWise provides the document — always verify local customs procedures for your destination port.
